Howdy!
Welcome to JKB CREATION, my name is Kate Brandenstein. I am the owner and creator of this business and I just wanted to give everyone a chance to get to know me better ms who the face is behind these super cool hats.
- I am 24, almost 25 in April, (I’m an Aries, too!)
- I am married to my best friend since October of 2022. He is one of my biggest supporters in everything I do and I couldn’t be more lucky to have someone by my side no matter what crazy idea I spawn up. He also has been more than happy to make horse shoe hat racks for pop up shows.
- I a fur mama to a fluffy Australian Shepherd named Koda (also well known as Koda Bear, Bean, Mr. Weenie and sometimes Dakota Eugene), a sweet black lab named Rhetta (also nicknamed, Rhetta Jean, Jean, Ray Ray and Doby when her ears are flapped backwards after wrestling her brother.) My dogs are my entire world, alongside my dogs I am a fur mama to two rescue horses. A sweet, chestnut quarter horse gelding named Ransom Lee and to a spicy, Appaloosa / Paint mix mare named Beauty.
- I have been helping out at a horse rescue, Heartland Equine Rescue, for almost two years now and it is something I’m very passionate about. Ransom came from a horse auction in Kentucky and was very underweight and malnourished. With a lot of TLC he’s became a SPOILED boy who doesn’t hold back his chatter whenever he sees you pulling into the driveway for his daily feast.
- On top of hats, volunteering at Heartland Equine Rescue, and being a dog mom & wife I’m a full time stylist for the last 4 years. Hand tied extensions & blondes are my specialty. You can find my work under my handle @cosbykate!
- I am from a SUPER rural, agricultural town in southern Indiana, FFA week during highschool was a huge highlight of the school year because of milkshake day & tractor day being bundled into one. Corn & watermelon are gonna be the most popular buy almost every mile alongside the road during harvest time! Wouldn’t trade if for the world
- I love the outdoors, during the warmer months you can find our closest friends & us all in the woods riding around in our RZR side by side, most commonly at Blue Holler Off-Road in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. We spend a lot of our time going to different places and just hanging out, climbing hills & making our best memories. So blessed for our friends & family!
- Fun fact : my maiden name is McCoy and I am blood related to the Hatfields & McCoys. Must explain the well talked about “McCoy rage gene.”
- In May of 2023 I will be working my biggest event yet before the Evansville PBR where I will be set up to sell in front of the stadium. Through that connection I’ve been added into a committee that organizes music festivals & other PBR events in our surrounding area. I’m so beyond grateful to see where this takes JKB CREATION.
Just know that every hat is well thought out and made with love, I enjoy every minute of creating special hats for everyone to be able to bring out an entirely unique side of the western industry. I am excited to see how far JKB CREATION can reach in the coming years.
